Day 20
Wow amazing to think we leave on Sunday, but I am ready to go home, it’s amazing how much being away makes you appreciate things like a washing machine, a kitchen with everything and even routine (that’s right I’m missing the gym and my daily life) not sure if I’m ready to go back to work though, this trip has been mighty exhausting!
Anyway today we made our way from Oxnard to San Diego, we followed the pacific Coast Highway till its end and enjoyed stopping at Newport beach (mostly just for the OC tv show obsession I have had going on since it started) it really was a nice beach this one and the temperature is finally back to hot and sunny, no more jumpers for these two! We passed many beaches along the way and it was a really nice drive.
We stopped for lunch at ihop today, finally getting to it! I had New York Cheesecake pancakes topped with strawberries and cream, these were so delicious, but also so sickly sweet and it took me ages to eat them all… I was determined not to waste my food. (even if I did feel a little sick after) Greg had some Belgium waffles and chicken strips, a weird combination I know!
Pushing on and finally making it to our hotel in mission valley, San Diego we were excited to check in (as always) for a break from the car, we were also glad to be here for three nights so much more relaxing! This is a very nice hotel with fancy Cantelope and Lime/mint water free to guests (you should have seen Gregs face when I gave him some of the cantelope haha) a nice common area, hallways, rooms and beds! We ended up with two queens and Greg thinks we should sleep separate and experience a whole bed to ourselves as this never happens….. I think I’ll just join him in whichever bed he chooses haha.
It just so happened that there was a massive shopping centre over the road so we finished off our afternoon by continuing our quest at best buy getting some hardrives for cheap, Greg also getting a few new things for his computer.
Having the tablet now also made it more bearable for Greg to wait for me shopping as he could sit and play games on it, I had no luck in target (none of the nice bikinis fit me, only ladies with real boobs, sizes left) I left frustrated but ended up with a good haul at another store yay! It was getting late by now and time to head back, picking up some milk and cereal on the way as we have fridge again yay! We didn’t think about not having bowls and spoons though…… looks like we will be drinking our cereal out of mugs in the morning! Haha
We’re super excited for tomorrow as its San Diego Zoo day! Now I’m off to get some sleep
Thanks for reading
