Hoover Dam & A Bit more of Vegas!

Hello from Day 8 in Las Vegas!

Another sleep in this morning! I think we earned it with a 2 -2.30am bedtime! We Left the hotel around 9.30 and headed out to Boulder City (about 40 mins away) to see Hoover Dam. On the way you have a great view of lake Mead and seriously guys I have never seen such an ocean blue lake before and nothing but desert around it, no trees or greenery anywhere, just amazing! Hoover Dam is an amazing set up also and it was a great place to stop for a quick look and get some photo’s, only stopping for a short time as it was so hot and humid, this is the first time we have been really uncomfortable so far! Heading up to the Lake Mead lookout, it was thankfully quite windy so we had a chance to cool of and look at this amazing lake, with its own Marina! Watching many people out on their boats and out water skiing.

We headed back to Las Vegas and parked at the Venetian to have a better look around and inside, keen to eat at B&B (supposed to be some amazing burger place) and go for a gondola ride. The inside of the Venetian is so fancy and probably my favorite of all the Vegas casino’s the fake sky is amazingly done and the casino very classy but such a confusing place to navigate as its huge! Eventually we found the B&B Burger place but it was closed, only open for dinner, bummer and for a 13 minute gondola ride we would have had to pay $18 just each just for a reservation and then $75 to go for the ride! We decided to pass on that and headed back to the Excalibur for lunch and a rest, still feeling the effects of our massive walk last night, after searching for awhile we settled on McDonald burgers as we had a voucher for a free burger and who can resist only spending $8 for lunch for two people, We tried some fancy beef, bacon, cheese and pickle burgers here and must say it was pretty good, heading back to our room to eat away from the crowds it was nice to cool off in the air con and watched some tv/ catch up with a bit of social media. A bit later it was time to check out the pools, but it was very hot and no shade anywhere at all! Never mind instead we decided it was time to head back out on the strip to do some shopping and grab another New York slice of Pizza for tea, YUM!

We decided on an early night for chilling out as we have another early start tomorrow. A great way to give me some blog catch up time and Greg get a nice big sleep before another big drive (he’s pretty wrecked right now) we had also seen enough of vegas, it is a fantastic place to visit We have definitely enjoyed our time here, so much to do … but even more if you have lots of money!

Thanks for reading, enjoy the photo’s
