Day 11 – Yosemite continued..

Day 11

Starting the morning early we headed down to the town of Mariposa for our Zip Line tour (flying fox) again we were a little disappointed to find that it wasn’t quite as described and that the land was dry and yellow, the trees were average and it was not the exciting Yosemite type veiws we were hoping for. On the upside we were the only two that turned up for the tour, so had a guide each and didn’t have to wait in line for once! Our tour guide’s were cool guys giving us their nicknames of ‘draggin’ and ‘lion cub’ (the name to get the ladies apparently) draggin had fun guessing where we were from, apparently I sound way more Australian than Greg, I can also hear how thick my accent is sometimes…. embarrassing! Haha. They were talking to us about many things like how crazy scary they think our animals are (umm you guys have bears, mountain lions, rattle snakes etc!) Greg said to let them keep thinking it, as it makes us Aussies seem more hardcore! The zip lining was also fun, I was pretty scared the first time and had the shakes big time when I got down, but I soon saw the fun it it and started to relax enjoying the height and the speed of the lines. Overall a fun morning but, a long drive away from the park and by the time we headed up to explore we were already tired for the afternoon!

We pushed on visiting the lower waterfall, the trees are huge here, so tall! Unfortunately the waterfall was pretty much dried up (end of summer of course) but we still enjoyed the view. We stopped for a rest (our feet and bodies are just tired all the time at this point) and enjoyed watching at least 6 squirrels run around everywhere, some of them very curious and not scared of people at all. We then decided to climb all the way up to the base of the waterfall, finding a slow trickle of a water down the cliff face and pool of water at the bottom. Climbing a bit higher we found ourselves in an almost cave sadly filled with graffiti, it was fun to make noise and listen to out echo’s, this was a long climb and got a bit hairy on the way down.

We drove through the park a bit more and checked out the Yosemite store. We had plans to find a nice place for sunset, but decided we were tired and we might head back to the hotel for another swim and a rest. We headed back to the indoor pool and enjoyed chilling out in here for awhile again. It started to rain and many of the people in the outside pools came in to beat the rain, two fellas decided to do laps in the pool splashing everywhere ( so inconsiderate of the many just enjoying simply swimming and floating around) We got out ( as well as many others) and headed back to our room to use the spa, I had the great idea of watching a movie on the laptop and having a sort of picnic, we decided we deserved a rest and relaxing afternoon and that as much as we wanted to get out and see more, we were just too tired! It was a lovely relaxing afternoon followed by a relaxing evening staying in and having an early night, this really helped us for the next day.

Thanks for reading, enjoy the pretty photo’s!
